SHOP 2010 will be at the RDS in Dublin on 28/29/30 September 2010.
SHOP 2010, the showcase for the food and drink industry in Ireland will take place in the RDS, Dublin on September 28/29/30. ACBI will be there in force, this year with our own Learn Shop. This will be a dedicated seminar theatre where various speakers will be on hand to help CraftButchers, and others, manage their businesses more cost effectively.
There will be competition finals, meat cutting demonstrations and new product workshops. The launch of ACBI's new website will also take place at SHOP.
This year at SHOP, Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland will have a themed pavilion where all events will take place, designed by our Partners in Business Maria O'Neill Design and Gerry Owens design
Finbarr Malone of Customer Connect will outline the reasons for having a Loyalty Card System.
- Increase opportunities for improving sales. Provides you with a fully comprehensive customer retention strategy.
- Each butcher's shop has the option to specify the direction of their loyalty club.
- There is no expensive hardware to be installed.
- Totally automated system means that the only activity each butcher will have to do is recruit members by taking customer details and asking them to give permission to receive emails and text, emails and texts are sent automatically depending on customer spend behaviour.
Jane Newbigging of Context Business Solutions will talk about Customer Care and the benefits to your business of improving the customer experience in your store.
Keeping customers coming through the door is no longer a matter of opening the doors in the morning - (if it ever was) and waiting for our loyal following to enter.
Now is the time to rise to the challenge......and reinvent your customer service. Take a fresh look at your customer approach and what you can do to drive business forward
and attract a customer base that is happy to make your store their "destination of choice".
Seamus Kilmartin of Utility Saver 1890 825 777 - has a unique take on saving money on your utility bills. He will reduce your utility costs and there is absolutely NO cost/fee involved.
ACBI has always focused on the areas of most concern to butchers therefore utility costs definitely fall into this category. As a result, ACBI has chosen Utility Saver to facilitate preferential pricing and service levels - combined with additional valuable benefits - to our members nationwide. The brand name for this offering is Craftbutcher EnergyComms.
Utility Saver is a Utilities Intermediary and specialises in reducing Energy, Telecoms/Broadband and Merchant Services (Credit & Debit/Laser card) costs for businesses. Utility Saver is partnered with 17 leading utility operators and the Utility Saver service is 100% independent and free.
SHOP 2010 will see the announcement of the winners of the first Star Shop Awards.
Judging took place during July and August and the results will be declared at SHOP 2010. The competition was scored by mystery shopper visits, and is aimed at raising standards and making CraftButcher shops "destinations of choice" for consumers. A good customer experience is what keeps us in business in the face of price competition. The "something extra" that a CraftButcher can offer is our important point of difference.
ACBI's new website launch will see the long awaited revamp with features our members have asked for:
Public page with a Google map showing the location of CraftButcher shops accessible by county.
"How to buy meat" section for customers.
"The CraftButcher difference" showing what our points of difference are.
Competition results
Link to the CraftButchers Facebook page.
For members only a login site where all the technical information will be available, including margin calculators for Beef, Lamb and Pork, Cutting Diagrams, Display Layout ideas, a Buy/Sell/Exchange section for equipment/shops, contact details for board members and the various committees and a whole lot more.
We will have meat cutting/new product demonstrations sponsored by CF Gaynor with the display cabinet sponsored by Kenny Refrigeration, who are both Partners in Business with ACBI. This will be a new way of looking at traditional cuts, such as rump, that are not selling as well now as they did when money was more plentiful. A chef and a butcher will look at the best way to get value from these cuts, with a question and answer session and cost/margin factsheets available .
The National Certificate in Butchering Skills had it's first fifteen graduates last year, appropriately enough on our 10th anniversary. This year we will have the next group of candidates to come through and they will be presented with their diplomas at the show.
The NCBS is a FETAC certified award that is internationally recognized and is the only certificated training course in butchering in Ireland.
The finals of the National Sausage and Puddings competition and the Speciality Food competition, will also take place at SHOP
So, with something for everyone, SHOP 2010 promises to be a must-see this September.
